Prepare for Take-Off : Launch of Travel Diaries!

Welcome to the Travel Diaries!

This new category is here to give you a closer look at some of the details of my trips. This is where I let loose and share my travel experiences in real-time, and give you a realistic view of what a week’s journey through “X” destination is really like. This is the raw, sometimes rambling, honest stories of how these trips turn out and the effects they have on me. I love telling a good story, so I hope you’ll stick around!

My first trip to share with you starts in 2 days, when I will be boarding a plane and flying to…. uh, sorry! You’re going to have to wait and find out in 2 days! 🤣

What I will tell you is this: Every time I go on a big trip like this, I get really anxious about 2 weeks before I leave. It’s a good kind of anxiety, it’s a surge of adrenalin that helps me get all those last-minute preparations done before I check into my airline, get my boarding pass and head to the airport.

It’s like when you’re on the runway, where you’ve been waiting to be for sooo long. All the planning, deciding on accommodations, tours, transportation, and shopping for travel items, has finally led you to this final waiting point. You’re tired of staring at your local airport out the window as fellow passengers oh-so-slowly find their seats, fumble with their luggage in the overhead bins, and finally get seated. You just want to be in the air! The plane starts taxiing down the runway, bumping along slowly, and maybe even sitting for quite some time at the edge of the runway, waiting for its turn to take off.

Then it happens. Your plane takes that sharp turn onto the runway and stops. For a second, nothing happens. Then, with a powerful surge that you feel in your belly, the plane fires up those engines. Those BIG engines throttle the plane and give you this lifting sensation as if you’re already in the air. You might as well be. At this point, you finally feel confident that this bumpy hunk of metal is truly capable of clearing those trees in the distance and soaring into the sky at speeds of hundreds of miles per hour.

That’s the 2 weeks before vacation feeling I get. Like, after all this waiting, it finally feels real! I’m really going to this place! And then it’s just a matter of getting through the tedious humdrum of normal life at home for those last couple of weeks, whilst my mind is already relaxing in beautiful sunny locations and frolicking through new places and adventures.

I’m so excited to share this upcoming trip with you! I’ll give you more details soon.
